FBI Developing New Facial Recognition Software

Evidently, the FBI has kicked off a project to implement facial recognition software. The project, dubbed Next Generation Identification (NGI), will take mugshot databases from all over the US and attempt to assess all the photos to determine a quick match. Needless to say, the FBI has been pretty quiet about the particulars, but it’s clear they have big plans for this technology.
