Cray XK7 Takes #1 Spot On Supercomputer List

Just over a year ago, we reported that the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was building a new supercomputer with help from Cray and Nvidia. Well… the latest supercomputer list is in and Oak Ridge’s Cray XK7 now holds the #1 spot. Earlier this year, when the previous list was posted, IBM’s Sequoia held the top spot. The Cray supercomputer, named Titan, was clocked at an astounding 17.59 Petaflops! Holy moley! That is smoking!
