iPad 5 & iPad Mini 2 Coming In March?

It’s a new year and the Apple rumor mills are starting to churn once again. The latest scuttlebutt indicates Apple will be releasing two new tablets in March. These are nothing more than rumors at this point, but sources claim the next revision of the iPad, dubbed the iPad 5, will have the same screen but be dramatically thinner. This one will undoubtedly use Apple’s new A6X processor, but the price point is not expected to change. Some claim it may be going to a widescreen format, but others disagree. Additionally, the iPad mini is expected to be updated at the same time. It’s successor, currently nicknamed iPad mini 2, is also expected to utilize the A6X chip and is expected to get an sharper display. Again, some say it will adopt the screen format of the iPhone 5, but others say the format will remain the same. Little other details have come to light at this point.

While all of these things seem feasible, the time frame seems a little odd compared to Apple’s previous tablet releases. Up until now, Apple has released 1 iPad update per year. Are they moving to a “2 revisions per year” model… or is this all just all just media hype?
