Apple Wants To Buy Your 3rd Party Chargers

In an somewhat odd move, Apple implemented a charger buyback program this week. The program will officially start next Friday, August 16. Here’s the deal… bring in any non-Apple USB charger for iPod, iPad, or iPhone and they will sell you the Apple model for $10. These chargers normally sell for $19, so Apple is essentially giving you $9 credit towards the purchase. The Mac maker claims there have been too many cases of non-manufacturer chargers exploding or catching fire and they want user safety to be a priority.
