Apple Special Event Reveals Free OSX Update & More!

Apple held their much anticipated October Event earlier today. The event produced a handful of updates and a couple new products. Among the announcements were the all-new Mac OS X Mavericks, a refresh to the Macbook Pro line of notebooks, completely new Mac Pro desktops (unveiled at WWDC earlier this year), and an new crop of iPad/iPad mini tablets. Apple also released new versions of iWork and iLife for OSX and iOS. Fortunately for Mac owners, the Mavericks update will be FREE existing Mac OS X users and the notebooks received a slight price decrease with the Retina model now starting at $1299. The iPad updates were somewhat expected, and tablet fans will be happy about the lower $299 base price for the mini. Overall it was a pretty good event and it gives Apple a strong lineup going into the 2013 holiday season.
