Microsoft Posts EOS Dates For Windows 7 & 8… Kinda

Microsoft update their support matrix (shown above) earlier this year to include new end of sale (EOS) entries for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. Additional updates were made over the weekend. Currently, they have ended sale for retail copies of Windows 7 and will end sale for Windows 8 (not Windows 8.1) this coming October. What’s interesting however, is that they have no end dates for OEM copies. In other words, you can’t buy a retail copy of Windows 7, but you can buy a new PC with Windows 7 pre-installed. Huh?
