Microsoft Slashes Prices On Windows 8 Tablets

Microsoft recently slashed the prices on several 8″ Windows 8.1 tablets from Dell, Toshiba, and Lenovo. Needless to say, they are trying to get these devices below the price range of Apple’s iPad mini to draw potential sales. Starting today, Microsoft retail stores will sell the 32 GB Dell Venue 8 Pro for $229 (down from $299), the 32 GB Lenovo Mix 2 will set you back $249 (formerly $299), and the 32 GB Toshiba Encore will go for $249 (the original price was $299). If you were previously contemplating a Windows 8 tablet, now may be the time to pick one up. If you had your heart set on the iPad mini… this probably isn’t going to change your mind.
