Epic Apple Vs. Samsung Case Ends… Finally!

Epic Apple Vs. Samsung Case Ends… Finally!

Back in August of 2012, the courts ruled in favor of Apple and ordered Samsung to pay the iPhone maker $1.05 billion in damages caused by patent infringement. However, Samsung thought this was an unreasonable amount and took Apple back to court last year. As part of this renewed lawsuit, Apple wanted a US sales ban for Samsung’s products which infringe on their patents. Well, the final decision was made earlier in the week and now (hopefully) we can put this issue to bed… forever. The courts reduced Samsung’s fine to $930 million. They also denied Apple’s request for a sales ban.

In summation, after several years of going back and forth, Apple gets a chunk of money but Samsung can keep selling their phones in the US. Does anyone else feel like that was a huge waste of time? Why didn’t they just settle out of court? Well… I guess we go two years worth of random news articles out of this case. icon wink Epic Apple Vs. Samsung Case Ends... Finally!
