United Airlines To Offer Free Movies On iOS Devices

United Airlines is starting a new program to bring free in-flight movie and TV streaming to iOS devices. The airline currently offers this service as a paid option, but starting in April, travelers will be able to view the content using the company’s free iOS app. United plans to equip most of their fleet with this functionality during 2014. Their Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Boeing 747, and Boeing 777 aircraft will be some of the first to get this treatment. United is also planning to have a browser plugin available for laptop users. There is no word as to when the Android app will be updated to support free media streaming.
