UK To Allow Self-Driving Cars In 2015

We all remember when Google’s self-driving car earned it’s Nevada driver’s license back in 2012. This started a climate shift in the acceptance of robotic vehicles. Earlier this year, the state of California announced plans to issue self-driving car licenses yet this year. Now the United Kingdom is jumping on this bandwagon. The UK government just announced autonomous vehicles will be allowed on public roads starting next year. The pilot program will last 18-36 months and will determine if this technology should be widely available within the country. Ironically, the UK is not the first European country to be discussing self-driving cars. Sweden has already announced plans for a similar program which will start in 2017.
