Dell Releases $249 “Backpack Ready” Chromebook

Google’s lightweight and inexpensive Chromebooks have been very popular with educational institutions since 2013. Samsung and Acer were among the first to produce Chromebooks, but many other manufacturers have jumped on this bandwagon since they were unveiled in 2011. Dell released their next generation Chromebook 11 this week and it is said to be “backpack ready.” In addition to a rugged exterior designed for an educational environment, the device features an Intel’s N2840 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, an 11.6″ screen, and 16 GB of flash-based storage. All this with a $249 price tag. Cool!
