Microsoft’s Surface 3 Will Run Full 64-bit Windows 8.1

Microsoft’s latest and greatest tablet PC was announced earlier today. Called the Surface 3, this new tablet will be thinner and lighter than the previous models. It will also run a full 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 instead of the RT version. Sporting 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, the Surface 3 will sell for $499 (or $599 with 4G LTE connectivity). A second model, which includes 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, will sell for $599 ($699 for the 4G LTE version). All models feature a Atom x7 processor and a 10.8″ display. Pre-orders start today and the devices are expected to ship on May 5.
