Samsung VR Headset Now Supports Netflix

Many of us remember when Facebook acquired Oculus VR for $2 Billion back in 2014. The company has made strides since releasing a developer framework and several working prototypes. Samsung jumped on board and released the Gear VR earlier this year. The $99 headset uses the Oculus framework to integrate with Samsung mobile devices and provide a VR experience. Now, Netflix has climbed on board by releasing some of their flagship shows, likeĀ Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, in the VR format. What does this mean? If you have a Gear VR and a Netflix account, you can watch Netflix shows on your headset. Suposedly, Hulu, Twitch, Vimeo, and TiVo have apps in the pipeline. Before you go getting too excited, the shows are not 3D just yet… although this is planned for future versions.
