Samsung Releases World’s First UFS Memory Cards

Samsung just announced their new line of Universal Flash Storage (UFS) memory cards. These cards are intended for use in digital cameras and video recorders, but may have other uses as well (e.g. mobile devices). The new UFS 1.0 standard permits double-speed write times and read times that are up to 5 times as fast as conventional MicroSD memory cards. The product will come is 4 different sizes: 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. Samsung hopes the UFS standard will eventually replace MicroSD.
