Funai To Cease VCR Production

Funai To Cease VCR Production

So you probably read this headline and though… people still make VHS players? Yes. One company, Funai, still makes VCRs and actually sells about 750,000 units per year. However, that is all about to change. Funai announced they’ll cease production of all VHS players in August. Since they are the last company still making VCRs, this is the final nail in the coffin for the dated media format. Funai will ship the remainder of their stock and stores will continue to sell it, but once its gone… its gone forever.
