Microsoft Sunsets Skype For Windows Phone

Microsoft made a very odd move this week as they removed Skype support on the Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 platforms. Rest assured, if you already have the app downloaded, it will still work, but if you try to find it on the Windows Phone 8 app store… no dice. Yes, we know what you’re thinking right now… doesn’t Microsoft own Skype, why would they do this??? The company is avidly pushing users towards Windows 10 Mobile and consequently, this is the “go forward” version of Microsoft’s mobile OS. They don’t want Windows Phone 8 to become the next Windows XP.
