Instagram Is Introducing Shoppable Tags

Social media app Instagram, owned by Facebook, is getting ready to roll out shoppable tags next week. This functionality will allow users to buy an item right from their Instagram feed. The company is working with 20 US retailers to identify and tag the items based on their appearance. So, your daughter could upload a picture of her new Kate Spade bag, the app will recognize it, and tag it accordingly. Then her friends can see the pic, know exactly what purse she bought, and easily buy one for themselves with just a few mouse clicks. Does anyone else think this is completely ridiculous?
