Waymo Robotic Minivans Hit The Road This Month

When Google became Alphabet, or however that worked, they spun off the self-driving car division and renamed it Waymo. This week, the company gave the public a glimpse of the Waymo robotic minivans, which are scheduled to hit the streets of Phoenix and Mountain View before the end of the month. The vehicles start out as a Chrysler Pacifica and get the Waymo treatment which includes ergonomic cameras on all sides and roof-mounted communications unit. Reportedly, Waymo has plans to compete with Uber and others in the self-driving taxi market.
