Windows “Mixed Reality” Developer Kits Ship Soon

Late last year, Microsoft revealed the specs required to support VR natively on Windows 10 as part of a development effort called Windows Holographic. The company promised developer kits would be coming soon and they are now ready to ship. The first kits will feature Acer hardware and are expected to reach participating vendors and partners before the end of the month. Along with the hardware comes a name change for the framework. Windows VR will now be known as Windows Mixed Reality. Now that’s an odd name.
