Windows Major Releases Every March & September

Microsoft regularly releases Windows patches and formerly released Service Packs periodically. In more recent versions, these Service Packs have been re-branded Major Releases. The last major release to Windows 10 was called the Creator’s Update and it was pushed out earlier this month. Previous to that it was the Anniversary Update which arrived last July. This schedule has been sort of haphazard, but Microsoft just announced plans to normalize it. Going forward, the company will release a major release every March and every September, starting this September.
