Rocket Lab Completes First Space Launch

We’ve been following SpaceX and Blue Origin for a while as the companies compete in the private sector space flight industry. Now they have another competitor. Rocket Lab, a startup based in California, just put their first rocket into space. The Electron rocket lifted off from Rocket Lab’s launch complex in New Zealand and successfully left the Earth’s atmosphere without incident. The company has plans to fly cargo missions in the coming years.
