Apple Silently Kills The iPod

Yesterday, Apple ended production for the iPod Shuffle and Nano models. While this seems logical, it represents the death of Apple’s purpose-built music player. One could make the argument that the company still sell the iPod Touch which is superior in most regards, but that isn’t an iPod in the traditional sense. The device is more of an iPhone without a cellular radio… or perhaps a very small iPad. Well, whatever you wanna call it, the traditional iPod paperers to be a thing of the past. Rest in peace iPod. You served us well.
