WannaCry Hero Arrested By US Govt

Most of us remember the WannaCry malware that wreaked havoc back in May. A British cybersecurity expert named Marcus Hutchins, shown above, helped stop the outbreak and he was dubbed a cyber-hero. Despite the fact that the bitcoin accounts belonging to the perpetrators were emptied this week, the US government indicted Hutchins and he is currently facing up to 40 years in prison. Reportedly, the man had ties to the Kronos malware that was distributed circa 2014. Hutchins was apprehended while attending a conference in Las Vegas. Many experts are concerned this action may have very negative consequences.
