Astronomers Intercept Radio Signal From Distant Galaxy

Scientists looking for signs of extra terrestrial life intercepted some radio transmissions which appear to be coming from a galaxy approximately 3 Billion light years away. The radio bursts happen in the 4 to 8 GHz frequency band. This is an amazing breakthrough, but also confusing because, due to the distance, the signal would’ve had to originate when the Earth was still occupied only by single cell organisms. Astronomers are calling this a breakthrough listen.
