What Is The Future Of Google Hardware?

Google and hardware have long been odd bedfellows. The company released their first branded smartphone back in 2007. Circa 2011, the company acquired Motorola’s hardware division and planned to make it work. Just a couple years later, they sold that division and CEO Larry Page stated they weren’t “all in,” so they’d be “all out.” Now we’re seeing the company move heavily into the hardware space once again with handsets, smart speakers, and translating earbuds. Will Google become more of a hardware manufacturer in the future? Or is this just another phase?
