Geek Of The Week: Ray Wilson

Ray Wilson was an electronic genius who was passionate about getting people to build their own devices. He had a love for synthesizer music and started Music from Outer Space (MFOS) circa 2003. His mission was simple, help others build their own electronic instruments and inspire them to create something (whether it be music or more electronics). Over the years, he influenced thousands of DIY enthusiasts, many who went on to start their own companies. Alas, this great man passed away in July of 2016 from bladder cancer. It was sudden and sad, but fans of his designs donated over $48K to help with medical expenses. It’s a moving story. His family decided to maintain his legacy and the kits he created are still available for purchase online. For everyone Wilson inspired, we humbly declare him our 416th GOTW.
