Windows Adds AirDrop-like Functionality

In July of 2011, Apple added a new feature called AirDrop to Mac OS X. This feature also made it’s way into iOS and it allows users to share files over WiFi and Bluetooth. Now, over six year later, Microsoft is adding a similar feature called Near Share. This functionality appeared in a recent insider preview indicating it will make its way into an upcoming patch. Ironcially, Google also debuted similar functionality on the Android platform this week.
