TX Rangers Serve Apple With Search Warrant

After the recent massacre of 26 people at a church in Sutherland Springs, investigators are looking for more details on the gunman’s motive. An iPhone, purportedly owned by the shooter, was recovered at the scene and law enforcement has not been able to retrieve any data from the handset. Texas Rangers recently served Apple with a search warrant requesting access to the man’s iPhone and iCloud account. While this smacks a bit of the FBI fiasco from last year, Apple has always claimed they would cooperate with law enforcement in the case of a properly-obtained warrant. There are still privacy concerns, but this scenario will probably play out much differently.
