The country of France has announced plans to ban mobile phones from schools next year. The devices are currently banned from classrooms, but the government will be banning them from being anywhere on school premises (including lunch and break times) starting in September of 2018. It’s not 100% clear how it will work. Students may have to check their phones upon entering the building or perhaps they’ll have to leave them at home. Nobody is quite sure. However, the education minister of France is saying the devices pose a “public health” problem and something needs to be done.
