TeenSafe App Backfires… Exposes Teens’ Data

In the age of smartphones, many parents are using apps to track their kids whereabouts. While this offers a security benefit, the technology sometimes backfires. TeenSafe recently had a security issue which left thousands of teenagers’ emails, usernames, and passwords exposed to the Internet. And it wasn’t just teenagers. Parents’ information was also exposed. Reportedly the company has already remedied the problem, but it has undoubtedly shaken trust in these sorts of apps.
