Perseid Meteor Shower Peaks This Weekend

Every August, skywatchers grab their telescopes and head to the country with hopes of catching a glimpse of the Perseid meteor shower. This year is no exception. The celestial event started around July 23rd and will be visible until August 20th. The shower will peak this weekend, with the best viewing expected early Monday morning. Rates of 80 meteors per hour are expected at peak. However, at any point this weekend, after the sun has gone down, you can step outside, look directly up, and enjoy the view.
