Opportunity Rover Is “Lost” On Mars

NASA’s Opportunity rover is MIA on the surface of Mars. The vehicle is completely solar powered and a storm which started in June, caused it to go into low power mode. That was the last contact it had with Earth. However, researchers believe the atmospheric conditions are just now getting to the point where it can re-establish contact. NASA will be sending wake up signals to Curiosity over the next 45 days. Provided everything is still functional, it should start reporting again. Opportunity has been studying the surface of Mars for 14 years.
