New Copyright Laws Support Your Right To Repair

Earlier this year, we posted an article about 18 states supporting your right to repair your devices. Together, they raised the Right to Repair Act. This week, the group had a huge victory as the US Copyright Office passed new legislation that will go into effect later this month. The details can be found HERE, but it gives users more rights to modify their devices and manufactures less right to lock users out of their devices. One notable change is that users can not only hack their own devices, but they can also hire a third party to do it on their behalf.
