NASA’s Mars Lander Has Stopped Digging

NASA’s InSight probe landed on Mars late last year. The vessel’s job is to study the surface and interior of the red planet. Unfortunately, it looks like a key instrument, called a mole, is stuck. The moleĀ stopped digging on Sunday. NASA scientists believe a Martian rock may be to blame. The instrument should go about 16 feet into the crust of the planet, but it has stopped after just 1 foot. It appears whatever it encountered is harder than expected.
