Geek Of The Week: Eleven

Geek Of The Week: Eleven

Stranger Things season 3 just debuted on Netflix last week. I spent part of the weekend binge watching it. While we’ve already featured Mike Wheeler and Dustin Henderson as GOTWs, and we think its time for Eleven, above left, to take the spotlight. Raised in a laboratory by scientists, Eleven has supernatural powers. Using her powers typically causes her nose to bleed although some more extreme usage can render her fatigued and unable to walk for a period of time.

The supernatural nature of the content of Stranger Things has made it popular with geeks. Additionally, the show is set during the 1980s, so there are references to Dungeons & Dragons, Dig Dug, ham radios, and more. Throughout the first two seasons, Eleven escapes from the laboratory, makes friends with several kids her age, finds out about her mother, meets other children like her, develops a love for Eggo waffles, and saves the town of Hawkins twice. Eleven uses her powers a lot in the current season and saves people’s lives more than once. Make sure you log into Netflix and watch Stranger Things if you haven’t already.
