Nuance Buys Swype For $100 Million

Software firm Nuance announced earlier today that they have acquired Swype for a whopping $102.4 million. Swype is the company that created the ingenious application that allows Android users to Swype instead of type. The product was originally designed to help people text faster on mobile phones. We reviewed it about a year and a half ago, shortly after its release. Swype has now become a texting phenomenon and obviously, the public loves it. Who would’ve though such a simple idea could yield this kind of a demand?
