Facebook has made their first official purchase since they went public last month. the social networking giant just acquired Face.com, an Israeli software firm that produces facial recognition software. Facebook’s last big purchase, in April, was the popular photo sharing app Instagram. About a year ago, Facebook made headline when they added facial recognition software to their website. Could it be they are looking to expand this functionality with Face.com?
