NASA Scraps Plans For Lunar Base In 2020

NASA is hanging its head in regret as the federal budget plan was published. It appears that the 2011 budget plan only allocates $19 million to NASA, which will cancel the Constellation (Earth Moon Mars) program. Originally, NASA had plans to build a fully functional moon base by 2020, but the new budget will not allow for this. Opponents claim this is a terrible decision that will set the space program back decades. Proponents say it will force private corporations to look at space travel options, and result in more efficient space travel. In any case, the budget is being cut and NASA is not happy about it.
