Do T-Mobile’s Jump Ads Belittle Cell Phone Theft?

T-Mobile’s humorous new line of commercials featuring Bill Hader has come under fire from law enforcement. The ads, like the one shown below, promote T-Mobile’s new Jump program which allows subscribers to upgrade their phone annually. Evidently, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman does not find these ads funny. He and San Francisco Attorney General George Gascon have banded together and publicly asked T-Mobile to discontinue these “tasteless ads.” The Generals say these advertisements make a mockery of cell phone theft which is a serious subject.
