5 Technology Trends From CES 2014

The 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) wraps up today. There have been several releases, announcements, services, and gadgets featured this week. As the show is winding down, it appears 5 things seem to be common through many of participants. Normally, CES sets the trends for the year. If so, this is what we can expect in 2014.

  1. Wearable Devices: from video cameras to music players to health monitors and fitness trackers, wearable technology is definitely “in” this year
  2. Connected Automobiles: Android-powered automobiles, smartphone integration, and mobile Internet services are working to keep your car connected
  3. UltraHD Video: 4K TVs, 8K TVs, UltraHD, high definition streaming… this is going to be the year of big video
  4. Curved (and flexible) Screens: curved TVs, curved smartphones, and even flexible devices were around every corner
  5. The Connected Home: from smart toothbrushes to Android-powered stoves, the connected home was a recurring theme

Gone are the 3-D TVs and netbooks. Those things seem to have vanished with casette tapes and Betamax. icon wink 5 Technology Trends From CES 2014
