Samsung Gear Fit: Smart Meets Fitness

Samsung Gear Fit: Smart Meets Fitness

Smartwatches have been a big buzz word since the Pebble Smartwatch made headlines last year. Last fall, Samsung released the Galaxy Gear joining Pebble and Sony in the smartwatch game. When CES 2014 kicked off in January, wearable devices were one of the big trends. However, most of these devices were targeted at fitness markets rather than convenience markets. Now, Samsung is attempting to bridge this gap with the Gear Fit. It has a minimal feature set, but includes a lot of fitness-related options. There is no camera, microphone, or speaker, but it does have a heart rate tracker and a virtual exercise coach. What do you think? Is this the future of wearables? Or just another flash in the pan?
