Apple Unveils CarPlay

For a while now, we’ve been haring rumors of cars that run Apple’s iOS. Though it hasn’t actually happened, there have been several manufacturers who have marketed iPod integration in their vehicles. That will all change at this week’s Geneva Auto Show. Reportedly, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Volvo will all unveil vehicles that feature Apple’s latest invention, CarPlay. They say it changes the way you use your phone in your car. It also adds a small screen to the dashboard of the vehicle. Needless to say, Siri plays an important role as well. The CarPlay functionality will be delivered as an iOS 7 update and will only work on iPhones with a Lightning connector (iPhone 5 or later). More details will undoubtedly emerge at the show later this week.
