WP8.1 Gets Lukewarm Reviews

WP8.1 Gets Lukewarm Reviews

Earlier this week, Microsoft released Windows Phone 8.1 (WP8.1) to developers. It’s been about a year and a half since Microsoft released WP8, so many users have been anxiously awaiting this update. In an effort to copy Siri and Google Now, Microsoft has added their own digital assitant, Cortana, to WP8.1. Other features include a redesigned notification center, a new homescreen, and overall stability improvements. The reviews are starting to accumulate, and overall… they seem to be lukewarm. While there are many notable improvements, most reviews are saying it only “polishes the edges” or is “nearly free of glaring gaps in functionality.” While this may sound a bit underwhelming, the reviews have been more positive than any of the early WP7 or WP8 reviews. Essentially, it looks like Microsoft has caught up with iOS and Android.
