Study: Tablets Are A Good Thing For Senior Citizens

A recent study performed by the Center for Vital Longevity at The University of Texas – Dallas has concluded that tablets, like Apple’s iPad, may be useful in warding off dementia and other age-related mental conditions. The 10 week study involved 54 adults aged 60 to 90. They were decided into groups and given various mental stimulus like television and iPads. The participants were evaluated before and after the study and found that cognitive skills actually improved for those who were exposed to the iPad during this time. Further research is needed to fully understand the effects, but it appears that tablet computing may be a good way to keep the mind sharp. Who knew?
