New Facebook App Will Allow Users To Be Anonymous

There’s been a lot of anti-Facebook talk lately. Earlier this month, a group of drag queens publicly opposed Facebook’s “real name policy” that requires all members to use their given names opposed to pseudonyms. Earlier this year, 99 Days of Freedom encouraged users to quit Facebook. Most recently, a new network called Ello has been gaining popularity due to their new approach to individual privacy.

Facebook has been working on a new app that will allow users to be anonymous. The details are still a bit foggy, but evidently the new app will anonymize users so they don’t have to use their real names. Similar to Reddit, Digg, and a million other sites, the app will allow users to state opinions without tying your comments to your online persona. Hmmmm… does  anyone else think this seems a bit backwards.
