Windows 8.1 Usage Exceeds Windows XP!

Microsoft has been trying to bury Windows XP since they officially sunsetted it earlier this year. Though Windows 7 remains quite popular, we heard that XP still outranked Windows 8 and 8.1 as recently as this past summer. However, more recent demographics show that XP usage is waning quickly. The latest statistics from StatCounter indicate Windows 8.1 usage (not 8 & 8.1 combined) actually exceeded Windows XP during the month of November. According to their numbers, Windows 8.1 accounted for 10.95% of the worldwide OS population last month while Windows XP only accounted for 10.65%. While this is good news for Microsoft, Windows 7 still maintains a strong lead with 50.34%. Yikes!
