Windows 7 Extended Support Starts Tomorrow

Though Windows 8 is gaining popularity, Windows 7 is still the most popular operating system in the world. Last year, Microsoft announced they will cease support for Windows 7 in 2020. However, the support process at Microsoft consists of three stages: 1) Mainstream, 2) Extended, and 3) Unsupported. The first stage, Mainstream Support, ends today for Windows 7. The Extended support phase starts tomorrow and continues until January 14, 2020. After that time, Windows 7 will be declared Unsupported. While this is still a ways off, Windows 7 users need to be taking a good hard look at Windows 10 when it ships later this year.
