Wikipedia Files Lawsuit Against The NSA

When Edward Snowden took a stance against the NSA in 2013, he brought some amazing facts to light. He also entered into a life of hiding. Though Russia granted Snowden political asylum in August of 2013, the aftermath of the NSA findings has continued. Earlier this week, the Wikimedia Foundation, the owners of Wikipedia.com, announced they’re suing the National Security Agency (NSA) for breaching the First Amendment of the US Constitution. Most of the evidence for the case comes from the documents leaked by Snowden. “The surveillance that we’re challenging gives the government virtually unfettered access to U.S. communications and the content of those communications,” said Patrick Toomey, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union. He will be representing the foundation in the upcoming lawsuit. This will be interesting to watch.
