Tesla Moves Into The Home Battery Market

Tesla, the automobile company owned by former GOTW Elon Musk, made a big announcement yesterday. The firm moved their focus out of the automotive industry (though they will keep making cars) and into your living room… literally. Musk revealed a new product known as the Tesla Powerwall. It is designed to bring affordable battery power into the average home.

Utilizing a solar panel, the batteries will charge during daylight hours, and allow you to power devices and appliances inside your home. “Our goal here is to fundamentally change the way the world uses energy,” said Musk during the announcement in California (shown above). What’s more interesting is the fact that the units will cost $3500 or less, making them affordable for average people.
