Windows 10 IoT Core Runs On Raspberry Pi 2

Earlier this year when Microsoft announced the 7 versions of Windows 10, many people were curious about the revision called IoT Core. This is Microsoft’s attempt at creating an operating system for devices other than PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Essentially, it is Microsoft’s answer to the Internet of Things. Despite the release of the desktop version last month, Windows 10 IoT Core is still vaporware. However, Microsoft did release a public preview this week and it appears the system does run on the Raspberry Pi 2. It has also successfully installed on other low cost PCs like the Minnowboard Max. This is a big step forward for fans of the open source hardware movement. While Linux is great and geeks love it, having a Windows-based OS may make these clever devices more marketable to the general public.
